Helping a Large Group Practice to Create a Co-Management Arrangement
Client/Profile
A private independent cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery practice with 25 physicians
Challenge/Situation
To articulate a framework and business model as a basis for discussions with a large regional health system around the development of a co-management relationship focusing on better clinical outcomes, research and physician education.
Process
Veralon developed a conceptual and financial model to present to the health system management. The model included the formation of a co-management entity, and development of a professional services arrangement between the health system and the group, both of which would strengthen the health system’s cardiac institute and the practice operations.
Results
Veralon’s initial pro-forma and fair market value assessment ultimately served as the foundation for a transaction between the group and the health system.
